As a result of our stories, senior politicians have come under pressure and our series on the controversial business activities of the Hungarian prime minister’s son-in-law even triggered a criminal investigation. These stories drew attention from the European Union’s investigative authorities as well, and the articles were shortlisted for the continent’s most prestigious journalism award, the European Press Prize.
