Thanks to the individuals who support us, Direkt36\u2019s independence is guaranteed and the financial basis of our operations is stable.<\/b> Those who support us know that Direkt36 will still be around in five years\u2019 time, upholding the same values and carrying out the same activities as it does today. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In our last completed and reported fiscal year, 2025, we received more than 21,000 so-called micro-grants from individuals, even more than the previous year. Together with the 1% donations from the Center for Independent Journalism, the donations covered our annual budget of around HUF 156 million. (This proportion was 84% in 2024.)<\/span><\/p>\n You can join our membership program here.<\/b><\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Media outlets such as Direkt36, which perform tasks that are essential to democracy on a non-commercial basis, are supported by a number of foundations and other organisations, mainly international ones. <\/span>We only accept support from institutions that do not interfere in any way with our work.<\/b> For 2025, we have received funding for the operation of Direkt36 from the following institutions:<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n We participated in two grant programs that ran through 2025, both of which were funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The U.S. government terminated these two grants in January 2025; however, since the amounts involved were small and our financial situation is stable thanks to our individual supporters, this did not cause any disruption to our operations.<\/span><\/p>\n Direkt36 is participating in the CJEGC project, led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and <\/span>partially funded by the European Union\u2019s Creative Europe CREA program<\/span><\/a>. The project runs from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n Of course, none of these partners had any say in the content we produced \u2013 nor did anyone else.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n According to the audited accounts for the year 2025, the financial statement and balance sheet total of Direkt36 Nonprofit Ltd. was HUF 498,483 thousand.
